What sounds do you hear at the door or in your home? What do these sounds mean to you?
From September to November 2024, Soundtrackcity is organizing a series of workshops on sound and listening in Amsterdam South for the fourth time. We will make audio recordings ourselves and listen to and discuss them together. The workshops are part of Urban Sound Lab and take place in the Amstelpark. We will investigate the sound space of the park and assemble the collected sounds into an audio walk.
We work together with (sound/video) artist Werner de Valk. On the one hand, he will provide us with technical support and on the other hand, he will edit the audio recordings into a composition. There is room for two new people within the existing group of participants who have been working together for some time.
The workshops are supervised by Renate Zentschnig, co-director of Soundtrackcity. In the participatory sound project Urban Sound Lab, she investigates city sounds and sound experiences in Amsterdam South together with residents.
