On July 18th, we presented our latest issue ‘Play Play Play, all day every day’ in the Forum Hall of the OBA on Oosterdok. This new release has become a beautifully designed English-language guide, packed with creative ‘scores’; listening assignments to perform outdoors and indoors, which we worked on with the authors for over a year.
The guide is for everyone who can (and wants to) play and listen. It is a collection of twenty playful assignments, compiled by eleven authors of different ages (born between 1960 and 2005). The assignments, based on the premise ‘to play we must listen’, are organized into three chapters: Solitary Play, Exploratory Play, and Cooperative Play.
Almost all authors were present at the opening, plus a group of approximately thirty guests from home and abroad. After the opening speech by Renate Zentschnig, two authors did listening exercises with the audience. The guests got out of their seats and the entire Forum Hall was ‘listened to’. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the guide and the booklet was readily sold.
