During 24 Hours Zuid, you can experience Urban Soundlab’s audio walk, Geluiden en verhalen uit de Diamantbuurt.
On Saturday 11 October 2025, Amsterdam-Zuid will be dominated by music, art and community spirit for 24 hours. With more than 50 activities, you can play games, listen to live music, take part in workshops and craft tables, or take a look behind the scenes at special locations.
Join us on our audio walk through the Diamantbuurt. Along the way, you will hear residents talk about the sounds that colour their daily lives. What is the first thing they hear in the morning? Which street sounds the most beautiful? And which sounds make them feel at home? Join us and discover the neighbourhood’s personal soundscape.
The walk invites you to listen to the city in a different way – through the ears of the people who live there. You will discover how familiar sounds colour a neighbourhood and how personal stories together form a collective soundscape.
We start at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at CC Amstel. The walk takes about an hour. You can listen to the walk via an app on your own phone with earphones or headphones, but we will also bring headphones and iPods for your use.
Keep in mind: this walk is only in Dutch. There are plenty of other walks in English on TRACKS if you are not comfortable enough with the Dutch language. Check them out in the app!
