DESCRIPTION
The soundwalk ‘2.2 kilometers’ starts at WORM towards Eendrachtsplein through the entire Nieuwe Binnenweg and ends at the Lage Erfbrug. The soundwalk – which will take about 35 minutes – consists of recordings from the Nieuwe Binnenweg and other parts of the city, as proposing a soundscape exchange. The piece is also concerned with a sound historical memory of the street. For that reason, there is a certain revivalism implied by the choice of specific sounds that once belonged there. Three times during this walk you will hear the sound of pile construction work. At that moment, please stop walking and observe your surroundings. You may continue your walk when it feels right.
