Community Labs

Local knowledge about urban sound quality is made explicit and shared using symposiums and publications. Examples: Crowdsourcing Mr. Visserplein and Sonic West.

Example

Incubator

Soundtrackcity brings architects, geographers and sociologists together to analyse the auditory quality of cities and formulate integrated solutions.

Example

Research

Soundtrackcity also conducts qualitative research into urban environmental noise in cooperation with universities and research institutions.

Example

Artists as Ear Openers

The professional sound artists who lead Soundtrackcity’s workshops and listening excursions activate our hearing and allow us to listen to the city better.

Example

Area Analysis

What are the acoustic opportunities and threats in a specific part of the city? A quick scan maps them, resulting in practical recommendations.

Example

Balance in the City

Cities offer a mix of noise and tranquillity. Workshops and excursions are used by area teams, policymakers and commercial parties to arrive at the right balance.
